Adventure is out there.

Today I reached a crossroad in my life as I've been freeing up my schedule for whatever comes next. Now that my goodbyes are over and and I have so many extra hours in my week, I'm in a state of wondering. What happens next? I have to admit that, even though I would like to say that I am ready to face what's next head on, I am a little bit afraid of the uncertainty of the future. There are so many options in life. This is America! Opportunity has never been more available. But essentially we are all called to do the same thing. To love the God who created us and then redeemed us from death. To bring HIM glory and not ourselves.

I've never been one to stay in one place for long. Life consists of so many unexpected adventures and who wants to miss out on an adventure?! I watch two adorable children during the week and oh the adventures we have! Catching a bug is one of the greatest triumphs of the day and all of her favorite stories end with Daddy rescuing his little girl. Singing and dancing at random times is the norm. Kisses can fix whatever hurts when you're three and I find myself envying that simplicity.

In all my wondering tonight this is my conclusion-I want to take time to go on a walk and have a conversation with a man who gave His life to rescue mine. It blows my mind. I am going to read. Not for 15 minutes but for an hour if I'd like. The treasure of knowledge is worth seeking. A very wise man named Solomon wrote "When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you."

Adventure is out there.  But don't mistake it for being only skydiving or scaling mountains or traveling to Asia. The greatest adventure is following Jesus wherever He leads. To WHOMEVER He leads you to. The greatest adventures are the ones you don't expect, ones that pop up in everyday life and rearrange your schedule. This mysterious God will lead you into the wild blue yonder and the ride will be bumpy but holding on to Him you'll be safe. There will be stormy days and glorious sunsets, dark skies and starry nights. You may be alone but He will always be there, faithfully by your side. Ready to carry you if you can walk no more. THAT is the adventure I want to have more of. I can't wait to see how this story ends. :)
